The power of Social Media is increasing: 86% of
followers are more likely to purchase from companies/brands they follow on
social media platforms like Twitter; 46% use social networks to research about products
and brands; 75% use a mobile device. These are some of the results presented
during the Webinar: Ignite your Marketing Success on Twitter, given by Twitter
and HootSuite Executives.
For the next years, there will be a lot of
challenges for marketing strategists, such as: showing the ROI, managing time and
resources, leveraging social media to grow the business, the creation of
strategies for smartphones and other mobile devices and measurement -tracking
KPIs-.
Here are some advices for those who want to
take advantage of the social media platforms: use them as a source for customer
service, track your customers’ sentiments, and answer to their requests as
quickly as possible. Use the Social Media to create marketing campaigns and, at
the same time, engage with your customers by showcasing their stories.
Nowadays the key to success is listening to your
audience, what they are talking about your brand, what they want and like, are
they completely satisfied? Use analytics to identify compelling messages. Start
the conversation, see what they are posting, favorite their tweets, images and
videos. Provide them with relevant content and at the same time, encourage them
to share with the community their messages.
Remember that customers want to follow and interact;
therefore it has to be a one to one conversation and make them feel special. Customers
want to learn about new products, show their support to brands, get useful
information and find discounts and promotions.
